Alfajores (English s. below)
Die argentinische National-Creme ist “Dulce de Leche” – und die argentinischen National-Kekse sind die “Alfajores”. Natürlich werden auch sie mit Dulce de Leche gemacht (dazu Näheres im vorherigen Artikel).
Alfajores treten immer als Doppel-Kekse auf und sind in jedem Kiosk, jedem Supermarkt, wirklich überall zu kaufen. Auch in jeder “Farmacia”, die hier eine Mischung aus Apotheke und Drogeriemarkt ist. In einer Farmacia der Nachbarschaft habe ich sie sogar im Regal “Frühstücksprodukte” gefunden.
Die Alfajores waren ursprünglich ein Gebäck der Mauren und kamen mit den Spaniern nach Lateinamerika. Hier wurde das Rezept stark verändert, aber im arabischen Namen erkennt man noch die Herkunft.

Alfajores
The Argentinian national cream is “dulce de leche” – and the Argentinian national cookies are the “alfajores”. It goes without saying that they are also made with dulce de leche (see previous article). Another characteristic feature is that they are always double cookies.
You can buy Alfajores in every kiosk, every supermarket, every drugstore, simply everywhere. In a “farmacia” (drugstore) of our neighbourhood I even saw them on the shelf “Breakfast products”.
Originally a biscuit of the Arabs in Spain, the alfajores came to Latin America with the Spaniards. The recipe has changed greatly, however, you can still make out their origin from the Arabic name.
