Acoma Pueblo (New Mexico):
Ein flacher Berg, 110 m über der Wüste, und obendrauf ein Dorf: Das ist der Pueblo von Acoma, auch “Acoma Sky City” genannt. Im 13. Jahrhundert begannen die Acoma, Siedlungen auf mehreren Tafelbergen zu bauen (zweites Foto). Heute leben nur noch wenige in den einfachen Adobe-Häusern auf dem Berg, die meisten sind nach unten gezogen.

Acoma Pueblo (New Mexico):
A flat-topped mountain, 360 feet above the desert, and a village on top: This is the Pueblo of Acoma, also called “Acoma Sky City”. The Acoma began in the 13th century to build settlements on several table mountains (second photo). Today, there are only a few people living in the simple adobe houses on the mountain, most of the Acoma have moved down below.
